Lake Havasu is a huge reservoir of over 19,000 acres. Its blue waters are a magical force in this
desert location, drawing people to its beauty and varied recreational
opportunities. Lake Havasu State Park occupies some 920 acres along its eastern
shore, backed up and surrounded on three sides by Lake Havasu City. Daily I am
out scouting for birds along the park’s shoreline in preparation for leading
bird hikes in the coming two months. Not a bad assignment.
